About Maubret

Maubret was born in the countryside of Lyon, France. She has been travelling around the globe with her family since she was only two years old. This has created a passion and genuine love for other cultures and ethnicities.  When she was a teenager, she had the courage to listen to her heart and to leave France as well as her family and friends. She settled down in the French Caribbean (Martinique) with her father. Being emerged in such a strong and different culture at a young age pushed her to understand other ways of thinking and of approaching life. Since then, she kept on travelling, embracing movement, spontaneity and balance.

Maubret paints intuitively, letting place to the spontaneity of her emotions and movements.

Creating emotional portraits as well as simplified figurative artworks is her way to feel balanced between intense emotions and the simplicity of life. Her art is a reminder that despite the challenges, keeping life simple is a way of feeling happy.

“Through my art, I depict human’s emotions and connection between people. Every layer of paint and brushstroke embodies the complexity and beauty of emotions. I want my art to make everyone feel they deserve to express their emotions. We all are valuable. I hope my art inspires people to express themselves, to feel valuable. Connecting with ourselves is connecting with the world in a deeper and more authentic way” - Maubret. ”

Maubret’s studio is cosy and always busy of projects. She can enjoy Australian wildlife through her window: cockatoos passing at night, kookaburras laughing near by, pink and orange sunset skies.

In the future, Maubret is planning to acquire a more spacious studio to work with larger sizes of canvas, be easily accessible to public and make partnerships with local associations.
